About me
I am originally from Austria, lived in London for 10 years and call Australia home since 2010. After finishing my bachelor in German and Physical Education at the University of Vienna I moved to London with my South African husband where I was teaching German and started a family.
After our move to Perth in 2010 and settling with the family I was unfortunately diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (MS). In one of the many articles I read about MS and complimentary treatments I came across Reflexology and the benefits it can have - not only for people with MS. I always wanted to use some of my knowledge about the human body, anatomy and physiology were part of my university degree, and study further.

Learning about Reflexology and the benefits it offers made me realize that I am well enough to help others. Western medicine has it's place - I am on medication for MS - but body and mind need to be treated at the same time. When I trained as a reflexologist and received regular treatments I felt not only energized on a physical level but also motivated, focused and reassured mentally. My mind was “healing” itself from negative thoughts and emotions. Together with a mindful approach to everyday life reflexology helped me through a challenging time. And still does!
Over the years of practicing reflexology I have also gained valuable experience through my work at Solaris Cancer Care at SCGH. Combining Reflexology with Western medicine is helping oncology patients on their healing journey.
Since 2016 I have also been working with senior clients through Brightwater Care, Home Instead and Mercy Care. I travel mobile and offer reflexology as an at home service. |
As a practitioner it is important to continue studying to improve your skills. The list of further education includes:
- Reflexology for the treatment of pain Mauricio Kruchik is an international Reflexologist who developed a unique way to help clients with acute and chronic pain
- RLD (Reflexology lymph drainage) Sally Kay developed an award-winning reflexology technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet to help with Lymphoedema and other auto-immune diseases
- VRT (Vertical Reflexology Therapy) Lynne Booth’s five-minute standing treatment provides deeper access to reflex points so that treatments are quicker and more effective than conventional reflexology
- M & R (Mindfulness and Reflexology) I developed a sequence to relax body and mind as an introduction to conventional reflexology treatments
